The TBR Book Tag

Heya ๐Ÿ™‚

I was recently nominated to do the TBR Book Tag by Jess @ The Mud and Stars Book Blog. Thank you very much for the nomination, I’m really excited to do this. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Let’s get straight to it…

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Well, as of this morning it was totally all over the place. I had a bunch of sticky notes on my desktop with random names of books. I also had a list in a random notebook, which was similar. And also plenty stored in my head. But, since I finished school yesterday and had nothing of importance to do, I decided to join all of those lists and make a TBR jar! It was super fun and I can’t wait to use it!

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

Mostly print, I prefer to have and to hold my preciouses.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I usually decide what to read, depending on my mood or what genre I feel like. Lately, it’s contemporary. I also hope to use my new TBR jar in the future.

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?

I think it would be The Tomorrow series, by John Marsden. I’ve read Tomorrow When the War Began and The Dead of the Night, but I just haven’t been able to commit to the whole series yet. I definitely do plan to though.

A book you recently added to your TBR?

That would be Illuminae, by Amie Kaufman. There has just been so much hype for it and even though I’m not the biggest Sci-fi fan, I’m keen to give it a go. Every review I’ve read of this book has been so positive.

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?

Personally, I choose books mostly based on the synopsis or its recommendations. But if I had to choose one book, that I want to read partly because of its cover, ย it would be Shatter Me, by Tahereh Mafi. I just think this cover is so gorgeous.

A book on your TBR you never plan on reading?

Honestly I can’t think of any. I plan to read every book ever though, so… Hahaha.

An unpublished book on your TBR your excited for?

Can I have three? I can’t choose, which one I’m most excited for…

  • Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle, by Rick Riordanย (cover not yet revealed)
  • My Best Friend is a Goddess, by Tara Eglington
  • The Dark Artifices: Lady Midnight, by Cassandra Clare

A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?

It seems like everyone has read Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas, but me. I feel so left out and behind. It’s tragic.

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

Everyone recommends A Court of Thorns and Roses to me. I really should just read a Sarah J. Maas book, shouldn’t I?

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?

I really, really want to read Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda!! I’m not sure why exactly, but Carry On has started me loving LGBT fiction. Everyone seems to love this book and I just really want to read it.

How many books are in your Goodreads TBR shelf?

That is a good question. Problem is, I don’t have Goodreads… yet. I plan to change that soon. When making my TBR jar this afternoon I counted 66 books, not including sequels and series. So yeah, a few.

Thanks for doing the tag! A TBR jar sounds like such a good idea, I might do that too! I am also really excited about The Dark Artifices! You should definitely read the Throne of Glass series, and Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is one of the best books I’ve read this year ๐Ÿ˜Š

No worries! It was a heap of fun ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve wanted to make a TBR jar for ages and I finally just did it. I’m really hoping it will help me to finish all these unread books I have at home. OMGOSH, The Dark Artifices!! I’m definitely looking forward to reading those books, as soon as I can find the funds. Haha. XO

Thank you for the tag! You should definitely keep going on with the tomorrow when the war began series. I binge read that series and I thought it was written so well, plus it was awesome that the author put the setting in Australia! (which you don’t see very often!) It just had me, I felt so much for the characters and oh god there where some intense moments! Have a great day!
